Covington FUMC

Covington First United Methodist Church is a diverse, multi-generational and outwardly-focused Christian congregation located just off the courthouse square in the county seat of Tipton county, Tennessee.

Should you visit a worship service, you are likely to encounter lively music, sermons designed to impact your daily life and a Wesleyan emphasis on grace and forgiveness. You are also likely to encounter friendly and welcoming faces who hold to the notion that Jesus Christ gave Himself –not for some—but for all persons. We believe that all who are part of this body have been called, themselves, to a particular ministry as part of the body of Christ.

Our hope is that you will find Covington FUMC as the place where you can grow as a follower of Christ, be loved as a part of this community, and find a place where you can serve others. Opportunities for you to connect and serve are numerous.

Are you searching for authentic community—people who will love you and walk with you through all the “ups and downs” of life? If so, you’ve found your place. You are welcome here.

Sundays at Covington FUMC

Church can be an intimidating place to visit — especially if you don’t know what to expect. We invite you to experience what the gospel means both intellectually and relationally at one of our Sunday worship services. You can engage with others and find places for your whole family to connect. We hope that through visiting with us, you will experience the hope, love and joy that comes from a community of people who love Jesus.

We offer a Modern Worship on Sundays at 8:30am in our Christian Life Center. It has a casual atmosphere with a praise band and a Biblically based, relevant message. Our Traditional Worship meets on Sundays at 11:00am in the Sanctuary. It offers a more classic feel with organ and piano led music, a choir, traditional hymn singing, and a Biblically based, relevant message.
