Our Ministries of Outreach

We believe God has called Covington FUMC to minister to His people. Perhaps you have heard the same call.       If so, come join our congregation in loving God and others through service.

  • Bread of life

    Our food pantry works to provide food to families who are going through difficult times, and are considered at risk for food insecurities. We are always in need of volunteers and donors to help us continue to provide for families and individuals.

  • prayer shawls

    The Prayer Shawl Ministry exists to give solace and comfort to those in need by the making and giving of Prayer Shawls. They are meant to wrap and enfold the wearer in God’s unconditional love in times of sorrow and joy. For information, click here.

  • share the warmth

    Open in conjunction with the Bread of Life Food Pantry, during the months of November through February, patrons in need are provided the opportunity to get a warm coat for themselves or household members.

  • arise 2 read

    ARISE2Read is a serving ministry focusing on 2nd grade literacy. Volunteer mentors, from throughout the community, assist students in strengthening their reading skills by devoting one hour per week mentoring to two students




  • Good Samaritan assistance

    Our Samaritan assistance programs help those living in poverty or who have found themselves in hard-times to pay a portion of rent, utilities, or other necessities as deemed necessary. Funds are provided by free will giving by donors.

  • round up utility assistance

    Covington city residents who find themselves in need of financial assistance with their utility bill can complete an application with our Samaritan department. Please bring all required documentation with you to recieve help.
